Building Fittings: Significant Upswing in September
The recovery in business of German manufacturers of building valves, which had begun in the summer months of June and July, apparently paused only briefly in August. In September, the upward trend continued again. Domestic sales rose by 7 percent in September. At the same time, foreign sales increased by 4 percent compared to the same month last year. However, sales in the euro zone fell by 2 percent. Business with third countries, however, increased by 9 per cent. Overall, sales in September thus rose by 6 per cent.

Industrial valves: Sales in September again on a downward trend
Thanks to the very pleasing business during the first months of the year, industrial valve manufacturers still achieved a plus of 10 percent in the domestic market in the period from January to September. Foreign business was significantly weaker, shrinking by 5 percent. Overall, however, a slight increase of 1 percent was still achieved in the period from January to September 2020. As expected, the consequences of the corona pandemic have been making themselves strongly felt since July and are likely to continue to cloud business in the coming months.
