Valves - almost nothing works without them
Hardly any other branch of industry is so closely linked to the economy as the valve industry. Its manufacturing programme ranges from simple taps to high-quality regulators, and the range of applications for its products covers a wide variety of media, temperatures, pressures and states of aggregation.
Without valves, no chemical factory, refinery, power station or domestic drinking water supply could be operated. It is only through valves that it is possible to implement the planned process in a plant or in a pipeline system.
Axel Weidner, chairman of VDMA Armaturen and managing partner of Mankenberg, takes stock of a difficult year for the valve industry. The valve manufacturers have learned and achieved a lot in 2020. Also in 2021 the learning curve will remain steep for the industry, says Axel Weidner in his video statement at the end of the year.
Since spring 2020, the VDMA has been conducting flash surveys among its members on the Corona crisis at regular intervals. The results of the ninth survey are now available, and an evaluation specifically for the fittings industry is again included.
